We are pleased to announce that our Partner, Gülce Saydam Pehlivan, co-moderated the roundtable titled “Conflicting Beliefs” together with Rebecca McAlees, Unilever, and Christel Søreide, Wiersholm, at the 5th Annual Employment Forum, held on 12–13 May 2026 in London and organised by the Global Leaders Forum.

The session explored how different jurisdictions address workplace tensions arising from religious, moral, philosophical, political, and identity-based beliefs, with a particular focus on the balance between freedom of expression and employers’ obligations relating to workplace dignity, inclusion, neutrality, and business interests.

Bringing together comparative perspectives and practical guidance for employers, the discussion also examined the legal and reputational risks that may arise when responding to belief-related conflicts in increasingly international and interconnected workplaces.

We were pleased to contribute to this timely discussion and to exchange views with fellow practitioners on the evolving challenges faced by employers across jurisdictions.
