On 17 April 2026, Carrefour entered into a share purchase agreement to sell its 32.16% stake in CarrefourSA, one of the major supermarket chains in Türkiye, established in 1991 as a joint venture with Sabancı Holding. The stake is being sold to Yeni Mağazacılık, a subsidiary of Turgut Aydın Holding, which owns and operates A101, one of the country’s largest discount retailers.
The sale is part of a joint transaction alongside Sabancı Holding, with the two sellers together divesting a combined 89.28% stake in CarrefourSA. The transaction is expected to close upon completion of customary regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Turkish Competition Authority.
Paksoy is pleased to announce that a team consisting of partners Stéphanie Beghe Sönmez (M&A, Intellectual Property), Nazlı Bezirci (M&A), Şansal Erbacıoğlu (Tax and Fiscal Services) and Ökkeş Şahan (Capital Markets), along with senior associate Beritan Arık (M&A) and associate Ayşegül Avcı (Intellectual Property) is acting as counsel to Carrefour on this transaction. Partner Togan Turan and senior associate Gamze Boran are advising on Antitrust and Competition aspects.
