Paksoy is pleased to have advised on the establishment of Türkiye Petrolleri’s USD 4 billion Sukuk Issuance Programme and the successful completion of its inaugural USD 1 billion sukuk issuance, one of the most significant Islamic finance transactions ever completed in the Turkish capital markets.
The transaction attracted exceptional demand from global investors, generating more than USD 5.5 billion in orders from 165 international institutional investors across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It represents the first sukuk issuance by a Turkish public economic enterprise and the largest corporate sukuk issuance completed in Türkiye to date, setting a new benchmark for participation finance and further strengthening Türkiye’s access to international capital markets.
Paksoy acted as Turkish counsel to the issuer in connection with the programme establishment and the inaugural issuance. Paksoy is proud to have contributed to this market-defining transaction and to continue advising on pioneering capital markets and Islamic finance transactions in Türkiye.
The Paksoy team was led by partner Sera Somay and included counsel Merve Kurdak, senior associate Bülent Öztürk and associate Berrak Çoşar.
