AmerisourceBergen, a global player in the pharmaceutical supply chain with a legacy of more than 100 years in pharmaceutical sourcing and wholesale distribution, has entered into a share purchase agreement on 6 January 2021 to acquire the pharmaceutical wholesale business of Walgreens Boots Alliance in several countries including Turkey, and select parts of its international retail pharmacy business, for approximately USD 6.5 billion.
Paksoy is pleased to announce that a team led by Stéphanie Beghe Sönmez (partner) together with Emre Kotil (senior associate) and Can Yasin Aksoy (senior associate), as well as Togan Turan (partner) and İlayda Güneş (associate) for competition law aspects, acted as Turkish counsel to AmerisourceBergen on this transaction, with Hogan Lovells acting as global counsel.
