Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), a German-based listed private equity company, and DBAG-advised DBAG Fund VII have entered into a share purchase agreement on 22 August 2019 for the acquisition of a majority stake in Cartonplast Group, the leading European operator of a pool system for reusable plastic layers used mainly for the transportation of glass containers in the food and beverage industry, from London-based financial investor Stirling Square Capital Partners. In addition to Germany, Cartonplast Group operates from 16 worldwide locations including Turkey. The transaction is expected to close by the end of October 2019 after regulatory approvals are obtained.
